Dance - reflexion-scupture -
light and projections - live music
First performances: 8 - 10 January 1999 in Bremen
In this performance an attemt was made to combine the live
dance (of Minako Seki) with the reflection-sculpture ‚JENA'
(from Gustav Gisiger).
The basis of the choreography is the
thematic representationof the relationsship between linear
historical development, as the perception of individual existence
and the suggestion of cyclical, periodic movement of machines.
Theme: human person - soul - machine - universe.
The idea to imagine I, stage-installations,
reflexion-sculptures, slide-design and projections is by Gustav
Gisiger. He created and develop his théâtre imaginaire in
Bremen since 1994.
The live-dance is by Minako Seki, already known and living
in Germany, independent Butoh-dancer and choreographer. Minako
Seki has followed her own path in the last years in Butoh-dance.
The form and choreography of her dance has, in an ideal way,
helped express the above-described performance artistically
(and) with dance.
The basis choreography was done by Kitt Johnson from Copenhagen,
a well travelled dancer and choreographer (Berlin, Stockholm,
Portugal, Italy, Korea, Japan etc.)
As live musician Zam Johnson (Los Angeles/Berlin) was able
to be procured. By the side as stage- and studio-musician
and drummer with many known musicians in USA and Europe he
work since many years with different dancers for dance-theatre-projects.
The lighting is from Uwe Renken, a co-worker of many years
in special light-projects with Gustav Gisiger.
The costume for Minako Seki was created by the Bremer artist
Dagmar Hess.
The production was developed step-by-step from Dec.1997 to
january 1999 in Bremen.
